Christiaan Rudolf de Wet (7 October 1854 – 3 February 1922) was a Boer general, rebel leader and politician (wikipedia). This statue was built by Joseph Mendes da Costa for the Kröller-Müller family for the rememberance of his 100th birthday.
Check out my photo map for an exact location.

A very interesting statue in an almost empty landscape.
